To clarify, the Fire HD 8 tablet is optimized for the Amazon Appstore, and support for the Google Play Store isn’t officially available. Could you also confirm the current firmware version of your tablet? You can find it under Settings . Device Options . System Updates. This will help identify any update-related issues. Why does my Fire HD 10 Tablet keep turning itself off?
Let your Fire Tablet sit and charge for 1 - 2 hours, preferably with an Amazon-branded power adapter if available, then unplug the device and see if it shuts off again. If it still appears to be shutting off on its own, perform a hard restart on the device. Hold the power button down for 40 seconds or until your device shuts off.
